Module Level Masters, Grade A
This module was primarily building database driven web applications using ASP, SQL
and programming in VBScript. ASP is now out of date, but it taught me the foundations
of web development and database integration.

Module Level Degree, Grade A
This module brought me up to speed on the ASP.NET platform, complete with in-depth
explorations of features, practical examples, exercises, and insights into how to
most effectively use ASP.NET to build efficient, easy-to use applications.
The module focus was primarily building database driven web applications using ASP.NET
and programming in Visual Basic.

Module Level Degree, Grade A
This module taught the foundations of hand coding in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
1. Web site development with mark up and style languages
XHTML tags and standards links, hyper-referencing, lists, images, multimedia, image
maps, tables, windows, frames and forms.
2. Web site enhancement with JavaScript
Capabilities and limitations of interactivity using JavaScript, programming syntax,
data types, variables, arrays, form interactivity and validation, client side scripting
developments, document object models (DOM).

CIW Professional (Design Methodology)
This certification covers designing and publishing web sites, ethical and legal
issues in Web development, usability and accessibility.
CIW Associate (Internet Business)
This certification covers internet connection methods, internet protocols and the
Domain Name System (DNS). It teaches the tasks involved in various Information Technology
(IT) job roles in todays business environment.
CIW Associate (Site Development)
This certification teaches students essential Web page development skills.
CIW Associate (Network Technology)
Network Technology teaches essential networking technologies and skills, including
TCP/IP, stable network creation, wireless networking and network troubleshooting.

Module Level Degree, Grade B1
This course covered basic elements of sound, lighting, composition and applications
of digital filming and editing technology. For the project, we were required to
produce a video which involved filming people within Paisley and manipulating video
editing software. Storyboarding, framing, cuts, fades, titles, panning, colour,
timing, long-shots, mid-shots and close ups were just some of the things considered
in the production process.

Level HND, 11 Unit Merits
Units studied: desk top publishing, desktop scanning and image manipulation, typography,
artwork preparation, professional studies, multimedia presentation techniques, creating
multimedia elements, web design, 3D computer animation, design for screen based
presentations, 2d computer animation, design process, photography, print production
and materials, presenting complex communication for vocational purposes, integrated
media 3 and non-linear editing.
Most of these units were studied during the evening. Upon completion they gained
me entry into 3rd Year at Caledonian University.

European Computer Driving Licence
The syllabus structure for the ECDL consists of seven sections, each of which has
a short associated test: Basic Concepts of Information Technology, Using a Computer
and Managing Files, MS Word (Word Processing), MS Excel (Spreadsheet), MS Access
(Database), MS Power Point (Presentation and Drawing), E-mail and Internet (Information
and Communication)
